Congratulations to the cyclists of the 2011 STIHL Tour des Trees! The cycling adventure is over, but the trees (and the memories) will last a lifetime. 45 new trees were planted in Virginia by the 2011 Tour riders, and more than 200 school kids learned to see trees in a new light thanks to "Professor Pricklethorn". The 20th Anniversary Tour des Trees will embark from Portland OR August 5 and loop through Oregon, showcasing the region's diverse scenery and eco-zones from the high desert of Central Oregon to the craggy, foggy coast. Douglas firs, Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge will provide spectacular backdrops for a week of challenging cycling, community engagement and fun. The Tour returns to Portland August 11 in time for the International Society of Arboriculture's annual conference and International Tree Climbing Championship.
